Pay a visit to two most important Smederevo attractions: Smederevo Fortress and Golden Hill Villa (Zlatni breg), a former summer residence of the Serbian royal dynasty Obrenović.
The tour starts in Smederevo Fortress, built in the 15th century as the capital and the last great achievement of Serbian mediaeval military architecture. Find out why Despot Đurađ Branković chose Smederevo as his capital, learn about the history of his time, how the fortress was built, walk along the ramparts and enjoy a beautiful view of the fortress itself and the Danube.
After the tour of the fortress, the transport is organized to the Golden Hill Villa situated 4 km away from the city center, on a hill with a magnificent view onto the Danube, surrounded by vineyards on one side and one-hundred-year-old park on the other.
For almost seventy years, the Villa was Smederevo’s „forbidden city“, hiding many important gatherings and decisions of statesmen. Today, in its chambers and parks, you will have the opportunity to feel the spirit of old royal times by listening to an interesting story of a tourist guide and revealing at least some of the secrets of its history.

„GUIDED WALKING TOUR“
Pay a visit to a wonderful Smederevo fortress and take a walk around the historic city centre to explore its attractions.
The tour starts at Smederevo Fortress, the main tourist attraction, built in the 15th century as the capital of Serbian medieval state. You will find out why Đurađ Branković chose Smederevo as his capital, learn about the history of his time, how the fortress was built, walk along the ramparts and enjoy the view onto the impressive fortress and the Danube
After the tour of the fortress, we are taking you to the City Museum where museum curators will introduce you to the history of the city by presenting the permanent museum exhibitions.
A short walk to the Main City Square where tourist guides will introduce you to the cultural and historical sites around the square – The Church of St George, the Monument to the fallen warriors of World World First, the building of the Municipal Court, and others.
The tour continues to one more historically significant place Karađorđe’s Mulberry tree, a botanical rarity as a standing witness to many historical events in Smederevo over the course of 300 years.
The tour ends by visiting the Wine City, an interesting nook where you can taste and buy wine of our local producers.

“SMEDEREVO WINE ROUTE”
Take Smederevo wine route starting from Golden Hill Villa, a former summer residence of the Serbian royal dynasty Obrenović, and then continuing to one of the wineries where you will taste the best wines of Smederevo.
The tour starts with organized transport to the Golden Hill Villa situated 4 km away from the city center, on a hill with a magnificent view onto the Danube, surrounded by vineyards on one side and a one-hundred-year-old park on the other.
In 1833 Prince Miloš built an inn with a wine cellar whose white wine from Smederevo quickly became famous in the European market. Thus, the founder of the Obrenović dynasty became one of the greatest winegrowers in the history of growing grape vine in Serbia.
Grapes from the Prince and afterward from the royal vineyard will become an inspiration to Smederevo winegrowers, giving rise to the idea of the „Exhibition of Grapes“ in the 19th century that will later on get a new form in the event „Smederevo Autumn“.
After the tour of the Villa, we will take you to one of Smederevo wineries for a fun and interactive wine experience of 2 hours fit for any wine lover. You will learn important facts about wine, the process of making and storing it, hear interesting stories and taste the best wines of Smederevo.

„MEDIAEVAL TOUR“
Travel through time with us, travel back to the Middle Ages at the time when Smederevo Fortress was built. Find out what was life like at despot’s court and then enjoy a true mediaeval feast in one of Smederevo restaurants.
When you enter the Small Town of Smederevo Fortress, the sound of mediaeval music and dancing of court ladies will slowly get you back to the Middle Ages. Here, you will meet Despot Đurađ and his family, learn why he chose Smederevo for his capital, how he built the fortress, why his wife Jerina (Irene) was named Damned by people and hear many other interesting stories from the despot’s time.
The Knights will tell you what skills they had to possess, who was their greatest enemy, what sort of equipment they had and how it was made.
Learn about the turbulent history of the fortress in a unique experience, much more than a classic guided tour. Hosts in costumes create a special atmosphere, which will be both educational and entertaining.
After the fortress, we will take you to the nearby restaurant and present you with the food eaten at the mediaeval court and you can taste some of the dishes found on the despot’s table.
